I fell in love with the Simple Marks fabric when I saw it. I have a particular fondness for warm earthy colours and together with the designs on the fabrics I knew that I had to make a quilt.
No cutting was required for the quilt top as I used Moda Charm Packs. I did take time to decide where to place the squares. Sometimes I will lay the pieces out and leave them overnight and look at the positioning again the next day and make adjustments before I commit myself to sewing.
More recently I’ve got into the habit of taking a series of photographs before any sewing begins so that I am entirely satisfied that the placement is right.
This baby quilt was made using Moda Simple Marks Charm Packs (100% cotton). The quilt is backed with green fabric with a pretty, subtle fern design and the binding is in a muted green. Good quality wadding is sandwiched in between the layers.
The quilt was made on a domestic sewing machine and the binding was completed by hand.
