Up until this point I had never made a quilt piecing the blocks in a diamond pattern so I thought I would give it a go. I needed to make sure I had the right fabric that would work well with a diamond pattern and as soon as I saw Penny Rose's Mid Mod pre-cut fabric I knew the time had come. Penny Rose is the sister company of Riley Blake. The Mid Mod pre-cut bundle has a 1950's retro look.
As this was my first attempt at a diamond pattern I thought I would play safe and make a small quilt, which would work well as a super trendy baby quilt or as a wall hanging.
I made the quilt using a domestic machine and finished the quilt by hand. Good quality wadding is sandwiched between the layers. The backing fabric is in red and can just about see the diamond pattern created by the stitching - you may need to look very closely! The binding is in teal fabric.
The quilt measures approximately W35" x L43.5" or W89 cms x L110 cms
