MicroLife Textures Patchwork Quilt

A while ago I was selecting some pre-cut fabric for the shop and the moment I saw the MicroLife Textures collection I was excited.  The range is modern and sophisticated.  It didn't take long before I wanted to use a Charm Square pack to make a cushion cover. 

I loved the blend of colour in the collection and decided to make a quilt so here we are - a square quilt topper in an hour-glass layout.  I mitred the corners of the blue borders and added a backing which has been pieced.  Finally I added a scrappy binding made up of the colours used for the backing. 

There is a 100% cotton wadding sandwiched between the layers.  I quilted the piece using straight lines and used a domestic sewing machine and finished the binding by hand.  The approximate measurements of the quilt are:  57" x 57" or 145 cms x 145 cms. 

The quilt can be machine washed on a gentle setting.

The quilt would work well as a topper on a bed, as a wall hanging or even as a picnic blanket.   If you would like a hanging sleeve added just contact me and I will add one at no extra charge.
