Set of 4 Mid Mod Birds in Teal Place Mats

Last year I created a range of quilted place mats from the fabulous Penny Rose Fabrics' retro Mid Mod collection and due to popular demand I decided to make some more in the birds in teal print.  This time I used plain black fabric for the backing as well as the binding.

Each mat has a layer of heat-resistant insulating material and a layer of 100% cotton wadding.   The approximate measurements of the place mats are 11" x 11" or 28 cms x 28 cms.

I used a domestic sewing machine to make the mat and finished it off by hand.

The place mats are machine washable.  As the fabric and wadding has not been pre-washed there will be a minimal amount of shrinkage.
