Pickle And Spice And All Things Nice Quilted Tote Bag

When I was choosing the fabric to use for this bag I noticed that I had some solid colours that more or less matched the colours in the New Horizons printed fabric.  The tote is contemporary and practical at the same time.  Each side of the bag is different.

There is an outer zipped pocket which is about 8" or 20.5 cms deep as well as an outer inner pocket which is about 6" or 15 cms wide.  Both the pockets are lined with the New Horizons printed fabric and the lining has been interfaced. 

The bag is fully lined in pickle fabric and the strap is in the printed fabric.  The bag is also quilted in narrow vertical lines in cream thread.  

The bag measures approximately W17" x L11½" or W43 cms x L29 cms.  The straps add an additional 14" or 35.5 cms.

I've used In R Form foam and this gives the bag extra body so that when you place the bag on a surface in doesn't collapse in a heap.  In addition the bag is machine washable on a gentle setting.  I've also used In R Form foam in the straps which makes the bag comfortable if you're carrying the bag over your shoulder.

A panel of blue fabric is on the base of the bag so that the lighter fabric doesn't show the dirt when the bag in placed on a floor or other surface.  I've shown this in the last photograph.
