Earlier this year I attended a workshop with a group of fellow quilters when we were shown how to construct a Delectable Mountains quilt.
This would make a super quilt topper (with no drape), a lap quilt or even a wall hanging.
I chose to use some Riley Blake Knock On Wood fabric. This is a modern quilt based on a traditional layout with an added border in the same fabric. The result in some way resembles a city scape.
For the back of the quilt instead of using a single length of fabric, I decided to piece it in colours complimenting the front and this could easily be used as a double-sided quilt depending on your mood.
All the fabric is 100% cotton and between the layers is some 100% cotton wadding.
Once I had pieced the patchwork it was quilted by Cumbrian Longarm Quilting on a longarm quilting machine using a contemporary design called Fort. I then added the binding and finished it by hand.
The quilt is machine washable on a gentle setting.
The quilt measures approximately W60" x L72" pr W152 cms x L182.5
