Set of Four Carkai Quilted Place Mats (Orange)

For the patterned fabric I chose a fabric line called Carkai by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman and matched this with some mid grey solid fabric. The fabric on the reverse side is in the same mid grey material All the fabric is 100% cotton.

There a layer of heat-resistant insulating wadding plus a single layer of 100% cotton wadding sandwiched between the fabric layers.  I quilted each place mat starting with a centre line and working outwards in straight(ish) lines.

The place mats measure approximately 15" x 10" or 38 cms x 25.5 cms.

These place mats have been individually made and I made them using a domestic sewing machine as well as a small amount of hand stitching.

The place mats can be machine washed on a gentle setting.
