At the beginning of the year I made a bag by selecting some random pieces of fabric. The design was improvised and the bag sold within a week. However, I was asked by several people for the pattern so I decided to write one, which will be available as a PDF downloadable pattern in due course. In the process of writing the pattern I made some more bags in the same design using different colour combinations and this is one of them. However, this bag is in the original colours of Pecan, Coffee, Putty and Black with some black and white striped fabric.
I would describe the bag as 'commodious'. There's lots of room plus there are two zippered pockets: one on the outside and one on the inside. Both the pockets have been lined with some jazzy Mochacino fabric.
The bag is fully lined with plain brown fabric and the straps are brown as well. The bag is quilted in narrow vertical lines in cream thread.
The height of the outer pocket measures approximately 9" and the width is 10½” or 23 cms x 26.5 cms and the inside pocket is about 9" x 11" or 23 cms x 28 cms. The bag itself measures H17" x W18" or H43cms x W46cms. The straps add an additional 15” or 38 cms.
I've used In R Form foam and this gives the bag extra body so that when you place the bag on a surface in doesn't collapse in a heap. The strap also has a layer of In R Form foam. In addition the bag is machine washable on a gentle setting.
