Teal, Black and Pickle Patchwork Quilted Tote Bag

At the beginning of the year I made a bag by selecting some random pieces of fabric.  The design was improvised and the bag sold within a week so I made some more bags in the same design using different colour combinations and this is one of them.  The colours are Kona Cotton Teal Blue, Pickle, Putty and Black with the addition of some black and white striped fabric.

 

I would describe the bag as very large and 'commodious'.  There's lots of room plus there are two zippered pockets: one on the outside and one on the inside.  Both the pockets have been lined with the New Horizons fabric.

The bag is fully lined with plain black fabric and the straps are in Black.  The bag is quilted in narrow vertical lines in cream thread. 

The bag itself measures H18" x W20½" or  H46 cms x W52 cms.  The straps add an additional 12½” or 32 cms.  The  height of both pockets measure approximately 9" and the width is 8½” or 23 cms x 21.5 cms.

I used In R Form foam and this gives the bag extra body so that when you place the bag on a surface in doesn't collapse in a heap.  The strap also has a layer of In R Form foam.    The fabric is 100% cotton and the zippers are nylon.   The bag is machine washable on a gentle setting.
