Avocado and Berry Patchwork Quilted Tote Bag

At the beginning of the year I made a bag by selecting some random pieces of fabric.  The design was improvised and the bag sold within a week so I made some more bags in the same design using different colour combinations and this is one of them.  The colours are Kona Cotton Avocado, Putty and Black plus some fabric called Berry with the addition of some black and white striped fabric.

 

I would describe the bag as spacious.  There's lots of room plus there are two zippered pockets: one on the outside and one on the inside.  Both the pockets have been lined with the a fun print from Penny Rose Fabrics called Mid Mod Circles in Red.

The bag is fully lined in Avocado and the straps are also in Avocado.  The bag is quilted in narrow vertical lines in cream thread. 

The bag itself measures H16½" x W20" or  H42cms x W51 cms.  The straps add an additional 13½” or 34 cms.  The  height of the outer pocket measures approximately 8½" and the width is 8” or 21.5 cms x 20 cms and the inside pocket is about 8½" x 8" or 21.5 cms x 20 cms.

I used In R Form foam and this gives the bag extra body so that when you place the bag on a surface in doesn't collapse in a heap.  The strap also has a layer of In R Form foam.    The fabric is 100% cotton and the zippers are nylon.   The bag is machine washable on a gentle setting.
