For the last few months I have been doing a lot of hand stitching and have made a number of Boro/Sashiko inspired pieces, using a variety of different fabrics. For change I decided to make a piece using just a single piece of fabric and this is the result, with some influence from Aboriginal art and African dot art.
There are French Knots, Sashiko running stitches and some cross stitches as well, which I stitched onto a foundation piece and then added a backing.
The creation of this wall hanging was labour intensive with many, many hours of hand stitching (or slow sewing).
On the back of the wall hanging is a hanging sleeve so that a hanging rod can be inserted (hanging rod not included).
The wall hanging measures approximately W25½" x L13" or W65 cms x L33 cms.
