'Folded'Log Cabin Quilted Cushion (Manx)(3)

There's a bit of a story that attaches to this log cabin envelope cushion.  A while ago after I posted a photo of a log cabin piece I'd made, someone commented and asked whether I had ever made a 'folded log cabin' quilt.  I hadn't but wanted to know more about the technique.  After a bit of delving I came across a couple of techiques but the one that interested me the most was the Manx method.  Essentially measurements for the log cabin using the Manx method is dependent on the size of the maker's hands and the stitching is done by hand.  For this cushion cover, I compromised so the 'logs' have been hand stitched and I used a sewing machine for the remainder of the cushion.

The cushion is fully lined and there is a funky button at the opening on the back of the cushion.

The fabric is mix of a linen blend and 100% cotton. 

The cushion pad is filled with duck feathers. 

The cushion measures approximately W19" x L19" or W48 cms x L48 cms.
