The design for this modern quilt is improvised and is based on the method used by the Welsh quilter Nicholas Ball for creating triangles. He set a challenge inviting quilters worldwide to create their own quilts using his method. I had already been to one of his workshops and had made a 'Triangles' quilt based on his technique and still wanted to take part in the challenge. Triangles Galore II is the result.
To add additional interest I pieced the back of the quilt so either side can be displayed.
This patchwork quilt is multi-functional. It could be used as a small quilt top, a lap quilt, a play mat or as a striking wall hanging.
All the fabric is 100% cotton and between the layers is some cotton wadding. The quilting is matchstick (vertical lines sewn very closely together). This type of quilting adds extra texture.
The quilt measures approximately W45½″ x L55″ or W115.5 cms x L140cms
The quilt is machine washable on a gentle setting.
