'Playful' Baby Quilt/Play Mat

For this colourful square baby quilt I used strong solid colours.  I made the quilt to be used as bedding although it could easily be used as a wall hanging to decorate a nursery or could be used as a small play mat.

A jazzy black and white border has been added.  On the back of the quilt I inserted a panel made up of colours used on the front of the quilt and which adds a bit of interest on the reverside side.

The fabric is 100% cotton and between the layers is 100% cotton wadding.  I made the quilt on a domestic sewing machine and finished it off by hand.  The patchwork has been quilted with narrow vertical lines.

The quilt is machine washable on a gentle setting.

The approximate size of the quilt is 36" x 36" or 91.5 cms x 91.5 cms
