Japanese Rice Bags, also known as Japanese komebukuro bags, were traditionally used to carry rice offerings to the temples and shrines as well as being used to present gifts to special friends or relatives.
The bag is square with loops at the opening through which fabric drawstrings are threaded.
The bag is an ideal alternative to wrapping a gift in paper and can double up as a useful storage container for craft bits and bobs, toileteries etc.
This bag has been made with a print called Kasuri and lined with navy fabric. The bag has mid loft fleece interfacing which gives the bag a slightly padded feel and provides the bag with some structure. The bag is machine washable on a gentle setting.
The Japanese Rice Bags are available in three sizes. This bag is the medium size and measures approximately 5½" x 5½" x 5½" with the loops adding an additional 2½" (14 cms x 14 cms x 14 cms plus 6.5 cms for the loops).
The bags can be made to order for any fabric on the shop (subject to availability). If you would like a bag made just send a message.
