I've been working on a king size patchwork quilt recently. The main part of the quilt is made up of scrappy nine patch blocks with sashing strips and corners and set on point (that is the blocks are set at an angle). I generally make more blocks than are needed as a precaution. With some of the leftover blocks I've made this envelope cushion and have added an accent strip and a binding in a colour called Cocoa.
The approximate measurements of the cushion cover are 18" x 18" or 46 cms x 46 cms.
The cushion cover has been quilted in the ditch (in between the seams). Between the layers is 100% cotton wadding. This gives the cushion cover additional texture and a padded feel.
There is a mother of pearl button fastening on the back. The cushion cover is machine washable (although care will need to be taken to protect the button).
