Scrappy Nine Patch Quilt(2)

The beauty of 'scrappy' quilts is that the greater the variety of colours and prints the better.  Each nine patch block is made up of two contrasting prints and when put together there is an abundance of colour.

This is a square quilt measuring approximately 72" x 72" or 183 cms x 183 cms and could be used as a bed topper, a generous lap quilt or what about a luxury picnic mat.

The patchwork has been quilted on the diagonal in each direction.  I made this quilt on a domestic sewing machine and finished it by hand.

The fabric is 100% cotton and the patchwork has been backed with yellow fabric with white polka dots and for the binding a bright yellow fabric has been used.  Between the layers is some good quality Warm and Natural wadding.  The quilt is machine washable on a gentle setting and may be ironed.
