Mini Rainbow Striped Quilted Tote Bag

In 2023 I collaborated with Natasha Smart of Natasha Smart Textiles, a wet felting specialist, and between us we created a number of tote bags.

This is one of the bags we made from our collaboration.

We came up with the idea for this tote bag as Natasha had a beautiful piece of felt which she had hand felted in rainbow colours and we used that as the basis for a couple of tote bags in cotton.  See the final photograph which shows all three bags together.  This mini tote bag would be suitable either as a small bag or a bag for a child.

The outer of this small bag has been pieced and quilted into a striking rainbow stripe design.  I added a matching plain grey cotton lining,  small inside zippered pocket in a lovely yellow fabric,  and long,  wide quilted handles/shoulder straps.  I used good quality foam interlining to give the bag great structure.
