Pond Habitat Patchwork Quilt

One of the many techniques I have tried since I taking up quilting includes hand appliqué, a technique which can't be rushed and which is therapeutic.

For this quilt, all the shapes have been stitched by hand (appliqué).  I quilted the patchwork by machine in vertical lines of five with a space measuring 3" or 7.5 cms  which I then  repeated across the patchwork.

I used a modern print for the backing as shown in the last photograph. Between the layers is some good quality wadding.  The binding is a jazzy black and white stripey fabric. 

The approximate measurements are W74" x L75" or W188 cms x L190 cms
