Illusion or Cotton Reels? Hand Quilted Patchwork

What do you see, an illusion or cotton reels?  You choose.

A hand quilted patchwork in black, white and a colour called smoke.  The backing is a modern print from Robert Kaufman in  black, white and green as well as the addition of a black panel running down the centre. I then added a scrappy binding.

Between the layers is good quality wadding.

For the hand quilting I used black thread on the white squares and white thread for the remainder of the patchwork.

The quilt measures approximately 80" x 80" or 203 cms x 203 cms.
